Honestly...for the simple consumer...buy this TV
I am simple. Simple tastes. Simple pleasures. Simple needs. I will research a major purchase enough to know what will stick around for 5 to 10 years depending on how much technology changes, look at my budget, and fire away with the best purchase I can make.That being said, my requirement was 1080p, 240Hz, 55" with a Blue Ray player. 3D didn't matter to me at the time, but when I saw the deal for this TV, which included 3D, the Blue Ray (with 3D) and the glasses and the (How to Train Your Dragon) movie for a cheaper price than what I was pricing just the TVs for in previous weeks, I snapped it up.The results, pure and simple, are stunning. We watched Train Your Dragon with the 3D glasses and were quite frankly blown away.Yes, in this day and age, everyone wants to be the expert of what they know and poo-poo anything that is not professional quality, not top-of-the-line whatever and will write extensively about it...and this is actually a good thing...

HDMI 1.4 is supported
For those looking for this bit of information, I have the TV and it is hdmi 1.4, Amazon has it wrong in the Description and you can even find this information in the Product documentation if you don't want to take my word for it. This TV also can upgrade a 2D hdmi 1.3 signal to 3D. The cloudy lighting issue some see with the Edge-lighting technology reported on the 2009 product has been greatly improved for 2010 and I can't really say I even noticed it a in a black scene. Folks need to stop using past products to review current products, this is 2010 and not 2009. Outside of that, performance wise you will be blown away and will feel less pain knowing you just spent your child's college fund.

Great picture. Turn off the Auto Motion Plus
Fantastic picture quality! Easy to set up and use. Shippers were great, unpacked the TV and made sure it worked before they left. The only complaint is I spent my 1st whole night wondering why all my shows looked the Soap Operas. Turns out this is caused by Samsung "Auto Motion Plus" feature that adds extra calculated frames to the video stream. Turning this off made the picture look as I expected (i.e. Law and Order's proper gritty/jerky camera motion when the detectives are on the street). When this mode is off the tv is still running at 240Hz, but shows the same frames unaltered over and over just like the movie theater does rather than trying to "make stuff up" in between frames. I now only turn on the "Auto Motion Plus" when watching hockey.

Happy With The Outcome
I own several Samsung products and have been pleased with each one. I have also read of the horror stories of working with Samsung customer support and must say in my case all were proved false. I did my homework and was waffling between the UN46C7000 and the UN46C6300, thought for the extra money the 7000, 3D Blu-Ray Player and starter kit would be a fun addition to the house. The TV showed up as promised on the day I arranged, eagerly put it all together, inserted the 3D movie Monsters vs Aliens...it didn't work. Just got a blured image. What to do? My first thought was to return it to Amazon and start all over. But, decided to give Samsung a chance to correct the problem. The TV worked fine in 2D it just lacked the 3D and wow what a picture, it truly is crystal clear. The Blu-Ray disk player (BD-C6900) is awesome as well, a little pricey, but fast! Well the call to customer service went well, started with the standard card flipping problem solver who quickly passed me to technical...

Awesome TV if the right picture setting are used & here they are
Use the picture settings in my Review listed at the end and the Samsung un55d7000 will look awesome. First off I notice major black light bleed out of the box & even after tweaking the TV on my own until I found the right settings from a other users.What I really like about this tv is that my playstation 3 is synced with the tv. My tv come's on when the playstation is turned on and I can control my ps3 with my Samsung remote nice feature. The tv is nice a thin not very heavy. The 2d to 3d conversion is total crap some stuff looks good but for the most part it's a BIG gimmick. Movies & stuff filmed in 3D look amazing sometimes it's a hit & miss. So far my favorite 3d movies are : ( Monsters Vs Aliens ) ( avatar ) ( Despicable me ) Resident evil looked like crap & I really didn't like monster house. I am hoping the studios will improve 3D filming and make live action films pop out more. I tried some playstation 3 games in 3d I like the idea but WoW it really makes your...

Backlight bleeding - Not an expert review but will help you a lot
I'm going to cut down to the chase.The TV has so many good features (especially design) that are too many to list, thus, I will focus on the two things I have encountered that I know someone else might have experienced or will experience and are rather disappointing...but don't lose your hopes just yet!1) Backlight bleeding - My TV came set up for 'store' usage mode, instead for 'home', which increases the bleeding drastically.Changing to 'home' is quite challenging so you have to read the manual. After I changed the usage mode to 'home', it decreased considerably but was still noticeable.I visited some forums, websites, and some even advised to put pressure on the screen with my fingers (until I see the screen changing colors), etc, but nothing seemed to work.I decided to contact Samsung support and they advised me to change PICTURE MODE to 'STANDARD' and adjust the 'BACKLIGHT' to the value of '7'. The support guy/girl mentioned to leave this...

Great TV... If there is no flaw.
I just got the TV in today, and from I experience so far is that this TV is amazing.Black level is great! One of the best I seen so far.Internet connection is great on the TV. Very useful for watching Netflix.The qwerty remotes that came with my TV is very useful for web browsing, but don't expect the browser to be like normal computer browser because it is very bad, slow, hard to navigate, and cumbersome.For gaming, in my opinion, there is no lag if you turn off the picture enhancements options, and also turning on the game mode. I would say the lag on the TV would be probably somewhere between 30-50ms.3D is great! I watched Shrek 3D, and it's just stunning. A major improvement from last year model. I probably will buy Tron 3D, and see it on the TV soon.Cons: HDMI input is located on the side. Clouding & Flashlighting that can be seen in dark screen.Update: After 2 weeks of having the TV I noticed some...

Every bit as good as I expected
This review is a little long winded. Skip to the bottom for just the pros and cons. Or, keep reading to waste 10 minutes of your life.Over the last 5 years, I have been using a 58" Panasonic Plasma TV. Not a bad TV, but not the greatest either. It was only 1080i, it got hot pretty fast (which made the room hot and the air condition kick on too often), and the dimensions were weird (I looked at entertainment centers that should fit a 60" TV, but the TV still wouldn't fit.). I felt an upgrade was in order.I'll have to admit, shopping for a TV was pretty fun. A lot of work though. The research was overwhelming at times. Websites upon websites, magazines, books, different people's inputs, salesmen trying to sell you different things depending on which store you went to, etc. I narrowed it down to one of many Sony HDTVs or a Samsung C or D series. After narrowing it down to those 2 brands, it was a little easier. I went to about 4 different Fry's...

Not quite ready for prime time, in some respects
I wanted to give this TV a glowing review; after all, it has some of the latest LED technology, and the style is trend setting. After a week with this TV, I am less than satisfied with the 'Samsung Experience'. Let me get this off my chest first. Did you ever go to an event, like a county fair, early, when not all the rides and attractions were open? You're excited because it looks like it can be a lot of fun, but it's just a bit too early for the full experience. Well, that's the way I feel about this TV. First of all, the 3d glasses that are supposed to ship with this TV were not in the box. Instead, there is a voucher you may mail in, or go online to order (which I did). After a week and no response, I called to find out why the delay. I was told to read the voucher's fine print, which said there was a 10-12 week wait for the glasses. Not good. Secondly, I found an issue with the remote control unit, which is not a fun thing to have in your hand. It is sort of short and stubby,...

It was a great TV until notice the screen uniformity issue
I have been playing with this TV for one week, the image a color accuracy was great until I notice there is a white halo in the left and right side of the TV.
